Get Conscious About the Power of Your Subconscious Mind

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

Did you know that your subconscious mind is about 1000x more powerful than your conscious mind? We underestimate the power of the subconscious mind, assuming our conscious thoughts have more impact than they do.

If you are anything like I used to be, you have probably already tried thinking your way out of your problems. Whether emotional issues, bad habits, or disempowering beliefs, we are taught that we can control our thoughts and change our futures.

However, the thinking approach rarely works. I learned this the hard way.

It frequently fails because the conscious mind is limited. The truth is, if you want to create breakthroughs, change habits, and eradicate disempowering assumptions, you need to harness the tremendous power of your subconscious mind.

Conscious Mind vs. Subconscious Mind

Your subconscious mind handles an incomprehensible number of tasks, automating almost everything you do. Think about it – you don’t have to remind yourself to breathe, swallow, digest your food, create a scab on a cut, or process toxins out of your body. The subconscious is always working, taking care of these bodily functions.

When you wake up, you don’t consciously tell your body how to move. You don’t need to remind yourself how to get out of bed, and it’s not necessary to command your leg to flex particular muscles, slowly find the floor, feel the floor, engage all the muscles to support your body, and then think about starting to move the other leg.

You don’t even have to remind yourself to put clothes on before you leave the house because these functions are all automatically run by your subconscious mind. Isn’t that amazing?

Your subconscious mind is also the source of your creativity. It’s what solves your daily problems, and when harnessed, it is what allows you to achieve the seemingly impossible. The power of your subconscious mind is unbelievable.

When put into action, solutions can appear, physical challenges can heal, bad habits can disappear, mood can elevate, and new connections can occur.

How to Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind

But how can you harness this immense power of your subconscious mind? Through clinical hypnosis. You might have only encountered goofy stage hypnosis, which is for shock value and laughs, but clinical hypnosis, either in person with a skilled practitioner or via pre-recorded audios, is the key to tapping into your subconscious.

If you want to know how to reprogram your subconscious mind, hypnosis can be an effective tool. It bypasses the critical thinking of the conscious mind and allows suggestions to be made directly to the subconscious mind. But before we delve into that process, let’s first learn a bit about the problems that arise from how your subconscious works.

The Power of Your Subconscious Mind

Your subconscious can also get “viruses,” much like those that invade the hard drives of our computers. When did you last update the software of your brain?

Your subconscious mind works like a computer and doesn’t judge what information is uploaded. It accepts and lets in all information, whether beneficial or not. Everything you have ever heard, experienced, witnessed, and seen (even background voices and objects in your peripheral vision) is absorbed.

All these bits of information come together to create programs you aren’t even aware of, creating subconscious beliefs. Most of our biggest challenges with our programming stem from childhood, our most impressionable period.

We draw conclusions from what we observe, what we hear, and from what happens to us. These programs can lead us to think badly about ourselves, mistrust others, cling to certainty, fear intimacy, and much more.

Healing the Subconscious Mind

The good news is that it is possible to remove these viruses that clutter the hard drive of your brain. All you have to do is bypass the critical factor, which is where hypnosis comes in. How does hypnosis work? Later we’ll talk about that. First, you have to know what the critical factor is.

The critical factor is a filter that determines what will be allowed to travel from the conscious mind to the subconscious mind. Now, remember that your mind subconsciously allows negative suggestions to filter in much more easily than positive ones.

If you give a presentation and dozens of people tell you it was helpful, but one person tells you it was useless, the subconscious mind is all too quick to accept that negative suggestion, and then you may believe it. Some may even obsess about it.

That is how most people develop tons of negative beliefs about themselves. As the mind is wired to protect you from danger rather than make you happy, the subconscious is very skeptical of positive suggestions. The critical factor operates in a hypervigilant mode, attempting to keep you skeptical, alert, and on guard.

How Does Hypnosis Work?

Hypnosis helps you relax. This softens the critical factor, encouraging your subconscious mind to accept the positive suggestions of your choosing. Hypnosis can guide you out of inertia and from living in fear and disappointment to feeling alive and optimistic.

Healing subconsciously takes effect with rapid ease, allowing you to transform your life in an instant. Although there are situations in which therapy is helpful, there is no need to go through years of therapy to get unstuck. Your subconscious mind can be gently guided in a safe environment, altering your perspective, beliefs, and physiology.

If you’re feeling unmotivated and stuck while trying to navigate middle age, it’s time to take your power back by tapping into the power of the subconscious mind. Download our free audio for confidence.
